Nelson's Termite Treatments Tampa

Termite Repair Warranty:

Because the effects of a subterranean termite infestation are so devastating to your home and your finances, prevention is our best recommendation.

  • We will inspect your home to determine that you are free of termites and visible termite damage, to ensure that you qualify for our prevention program.
  • Upon qualification, we will treat possible entry points with Termidor®, the nations leading termiticide and issue a certificate stating that you are termite free and are under warranty if you should encounter any termite problem for a year.
  • This is an annual service that requires you to be billed on our convenient monthly auto bill pay program (and can be renewed annually for up to 10 years).

Drywood Termite Treatment:

Unlike the Subterranean termite, dry wood termites do not require any contact with the soil. They live in undecayed wood with a low moisture content.
Drywood termites are usually found in the humid coastal and subtropical regions. These include Florida, South and North Carolina, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. They usually infest attic spaces or exterior wood members exposed to them when they swarm in early spring or summer.

Drywood termites will infest dry, undecayed wood. This includes structural lumber as well as dead limbs of native trees and shade and orchard trees, utility poles, posts, and lumber in storage. Drywood termites do not need a source of water and live off of the water that is produced from the digestion of the cellulose. Drywood termites will not enter wood that has a sound coat of paint. Before painting, seal any cracks, natural checks, construction scars, crevices and joints with wood putty. No effective way has been developed to prevent drywood termites from entering under or through wood shingles.

Treatments: There are several alternatives for dealing with drywood termite infestations or damage, depending on the extent of the problem. This places great importance on an extremely accurate inspection of the structure.
Upon inspection, if your home is found to have termites, treatment suggestions and pricing will be given at that time.

Subterranean Termite Treatment:

Subterranean termites are the most destructive and frequently encountered termite found throughout Florida. Although they nest in soil, they can attack structures by building tubes that connect their nests to the wood in structures (mud tubes). The winged reproductive's surface from colonies in large numbers (swarming) usually from January through May during the daylight hours.

There are two general categories of termite treatment, liquids and baits. Soil-applied liquid termiticides have been around for decades. Their purpose is to provide a long-lasting chemical barrier that excludes termites in the ground from entering buildings. In most cases, termites in the structure die off as well, since they cannot return to the soil. Termidor® (fipronil), and Phantom® (chlorfenapyr), are non-repellent and termites tunneling into the treatment zone are killed. Overall the non-repellent products are proving to be more reliable in their ability to resolve termite problems in the first attempt.

Upon inspection, if your home is found to have termites, treatment suggestions and pricing will be given at that time.

Termite Pre–Treatment:

Termite pre–treatment of a new construction site is required by Florida state law and is a necessary measure to prevent future invasion of termites. Our licensed professionals will make an initial visit to the construction site to treat prior to building and will return prior to final inspection for a perimeter treatment.

We recently moved to our home and I always noticed ants outside the house. I sprayed and they would be gone, but resurface elsewhere. I missed seeing them one time and it was too late. They had made their way up the front of the house and through the eaves and were coming down everywhere in the bathroom. After 2 days of vacuuming ants and...(Read More)

David is a great guy. He came out to treat a possible yellowjacket nest in my shrubs and determined it wasn't a nest at all, but sooty mold on the plants attracting the yellowjackets to the plants from elsewhere. He explained what was causing it and how to treat it and didn't charge me for the visit. It's hard to find honest, knowledgeable vendors these days who ...(Read More)
