Preventing Carpet Grass and Using Pre-Emergents

 HOW TO PREVENT CARPET GRASS – CRAB GRASS IN TAMPA LAWN WITH PRE EMERGENT

I recently posted a blog regarding how to prevent carpet grass.  By simply learning what your lawn is telling you will deliver you A BETTER LOOKING Lawn.

The above section had to be re sodded….withen weeks of this, weeds began growing and filling in faster then the homeowner could have them professionally and selectively  killed.

As mentioned earlier in article 1, a thick healthy lawn needs a lot of water…… If you do not have reclaimed water allowing for 3 or 4 days a week of regular watering, a lush and regularly watered lawn is not always obtainable without being harassed somehow financially from the water authorities.  It is the lack of water that is the # 1 reason causing lawns to thin out above all insect damage combined… thus opening the door for Carpet – Crab Grass and all kinds of broad leaf weeds to begin growing rampant throughout lawns.  Therefore, the use of additional products to control Carpet – Crab Grass is mandatory to avoid costly re sodding every few years.  Nelson’s Pest Control, Inc. not only understands your watering challenges and how Carpet – Crab Grass and other weeds begin their process of growing within your lawn………it is our recommendation, due to limited watering schedules, that Pre-Emergent’s are needed for preventing and controlling Crab Grass seeds.  Become a customer of NELSON’S PEST CONTROL, INC. and experience the results of our golf course grade custom blended Premium Pre-Emergent Program. Once our Premium Pre-Emergent treatment has been applied to your lawn it will almost immediately begin creating a chemical netting over your entire treated area. Afterwards, whenever a broadleaf or Crab Grass / Carpet Grass weed seed begins to germinate, the pre-emergent will begin the process of killing it before you can visually see it. ***It needs to be understood that per the label, Pre-Emergent’s best results are obtained when your Pre-Emergent is present and working at a high rate for optimum results. Skipping even just one treatment in the year will just about guarantee the return of your crabgrass and broad leaf weeds.  Therefore, when applied correctly throughout the year (Nelson’s recommends 4 precisely scheduled applications) these highly effective treatments are done in an effort to aid in preventing Carpet Grass / Crab Grass and other broad-leaf weeds from ever being allowed to either germinate or establish themselves in your lawn. Having been self employed since the 7 th grade and grown up through my early teen age years in a wonderful family has instilled the importance of core family principles in me. Since as long as I can remember I have always had a passion to work outside in the lawn, whether it was raking leaves when living up North, planting flowers with my mother, or just capturing those big black & yellow bumble bees in a glass jar. Looking back, its not surprising to me now some 30 years later that I have passionately and thoroughly enjoyed growing and operating Nelsons Pest Control, Inc. In 1995 I delivered and began raising the first of my 3 girls, who are each are so amazingly unique, what a joy it has been being their Dad!!! Having been remarried now since 2007, my day to day home life has become an indescribable time filled with joy, full of peace and contentment. Thank you Barb for being the most amazing and caring woman to me!!! Words cant even describe the depths of love you have for me and my 3 girls!!! Oh, how could I not mention my step son Jostin who was adopted from Guatemala at 6 months old. Walking in the door after a long hard day at the office after dealing with volumes of sales/service calls……. yet to be greeted with so much excitement at the door to be told of his day’s accomplishments as he looks up at me……Each and every one of those memories are truly PRICELESS!!!
